3D printing in Watford, Hertfordshire

BOWLDER is a local 3D printing workshop in Watford, run by a former carpenter and joiner. We design and print practical parts that get used: replacement parts for things that broke, jigs and fixtures for the workshop, storage for tools and vans, prototypes for new ideas, and personalised gifts. Prints are made on Bambu Lab printers and designs are drawn in Fusion 360 and AutoCAD.

Our services

Custom 3D printing

Send us a file (STL, STEP or 3MF) or an idea, and we'll print it in a suitable material, from single pieces to small batches.

Replacement parts and reverse engineering

Broken clip, knob, bracket or cover that's no longer sold? We measure or scan the original, rebuild it as a 3D model and print a new one, often stronger than the original.

3D scanning (including on-site)

We capture real objects as digital models for reproduction, modification or fitting. For items that can't travel, we can come to you in and around Watford.

3D design and CAD

Your sketch, photo or measurements turned into a ready-to-print model in Fusion 360 or AutoCAD. You can keep the file.

Measurement services

On-site measuring for custom projects, so the part fits first time.

Prototyping

Quick, low-cost prototypes to test fit and function before you commit to tooling or a production run.

Bespoke products and personalised gifts

Personalised name plaques, branded jars and one-off gifts, designed for you.

Materials

We pick the filament for the job: PLA for detailed and decorative pieces, PETG for tougher everyday parts, and heat- and UV-resistant materials such as ASA for parts used outdoors or in vehicles.

Frequently asked questions

Where are you based?

BOWLDER is a 3D printing workshop in Watford, Hertfordshire. We work with customers across Watford, Bushey, Rickmansworth, Croxley Green, Abbots Langley, Kings Langley, St Albans, Hemel Hempstead and North West London, and post finished parts anywhere in the UK.

Can you print a replacement for a broken part?

Often, yes. Send photos of the part with a ruler or tape measure in shot, or the broken pieces themselves. We measure it, model it in Fusion 360 or AutoCAD, and print it in a filament suited to the job, for example PETG or ASA for parts that need to be tougher or heat-resistant.

Do I need a 3D file?

No. If you have an STL, STEP or 3MF file we can print it straight away. If not, we can design one from a sketch, photos, measurements or a 3D scan.

Do you offer 3D scanning?

Yes, including on-site scanning and measuring around Watford for objects that cannot easily be posted, such as fitted furniture or vehicle and van parts.

How much does 3D printing cost?

It depends on size, material, print time and any design work. Email a description or photos and we'll send a free, no-obligation quote. Ready-made products in the shop have fixed prices.

How long does it take?

Simple prints are usually ready within a few working days. Design or scanning jobs take longer, and we'll give you a timescale with your quote.

How do I get my order?

Orders are posted UK-wide to an InPost locker or a DPD Pickup shop, chosen at checkout. For local jobs, ask about collection when you request a quote.
